NeoGym’s Athlete Clinic is conducted by Richard Morrissey – Sports Hypnotist & Performance Coach

The mission of the Athlete Clinic is to provide the most cutting edge and effective psychological training through a range of different platforms to ultimately enhance an athletes sporting performance.

Our athlete clinic is suitable only for those who have higher physical and mental standards for themselves than is expected, required or needed.

What you can expect

Upon arrival at NeoGym, you will be asked to fill out the athlete assessment form at reception before proceeding to our private clinic room, where your session with Richard Morrissey will begin and will last approximately one hour.

The clinic session consists of psychological training only, however the gym may be used to demonstrate a particular principle.

Clinic options

A. Sports Hypnosis Programme; requires a minimum of 3 sessions up to 8 sessions

B. Coaching Programme; This programme is mainly undertaken by professional athletes whereby they wish to work with Richard for a longer period of time.

Other options for Athletes

NeoGym G4 Athlete Programme;

This covers the nutrition of a champion and a tailored sports specific gym programme. (3 x 30 min sessions per week)

This is pure physical training so that you physique operates at its optimal level for the demands of your sport.

Please note: A multi disciplined approach is employed, some of the psychological techniques used are as follows:

Psychology
Psychology refers to the scientific study of mind and behaviour, while academic experiments play a major role the practical application of the findings can be of significant benefit.

Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a pleasant state of relaxation and heightened awareness where the imagination is activated and the hypnotherapist gives specific suggestions, which go deep into the unconscious part of the mind which creates the desired behavioural change. The person who is being hypnotized is in full control at all times.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective forms of therapy used to create behavioural change. It is used for the alleviation and elimination of many conditions including dysfunctional habits, stress, anxiety, personal development, life improvement, the list is endless. The techniques used in hypnotherapy can be suggestion therapy or hypno-analytical in nature. Often both are employed to ensure long lasting change.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy simply means therapy for the mind. It is a talking therapy which is focused on increasing an individual’s sense of wellbeing. Throughout this type of therapy it often becomes clear what beliefs or concepts are holding a person back in life and sport. Psychotherapists use a wide variety of techniques which are based on dialogue and communication which help result in the desired behavioural change.

NLP
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. It is a set of psychological tools which helps influence brain behaviour through the use of language patterns and other forms of communication. It enables a person to programme the way the brain responds to stimuli, which results in improved behaviours. It is mainly focused on the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences. Nlp techniques are more concerned with the structure of how a problem is represented in the brain rather than the content of the problem itself.
